Micromeritics Autopore III
Micromeritics Autopore III

The method provides information about the specific surface area and pore size distribution, total pore volume, skeletal and apparent density of the sample. It is generally used for samples with pore sizes between 3.5 nm and 500 µm (meso- and macroporous materials).

Capabilities/Accessories

  • The samples can be analysed in many forms: powders, granules, sections, chunks, since mercury is non-wetting and non-reactive to most of the materials.
  • Wide range of samples can be measured: carbons, minerals, different adsorbents, pharmaceuticals, membranes, filters, papers and any other porous materials.
  • Available penetrometers:

 for powders:

                   -3 cm3 sample volume,  0.387 cm3 intrusion volume

                   -5 cm3 sample volume, 1.1 cm3 intrusion volume

 for solids:

                   -3 cm3 sample volume, 0.387 cm3 intrusion volume

                   -5 cm3 sample volume, 1.1 cm3 intrusion volume

  • Two low-pressure measurement ports
